I figured that I had to wait for the weekend before I can collect my thoughts and reminisce about all those days, yet with all the stories that I want to tell, the weekend seems insufficient.
I guess while I'm still awake (or at least trying to be), I should start documenting my stories about the mania that is cosplay.
I thought of turning this into a three-part series: Part One will be about BoA, Part Two will be about CosMania, and Part Three will be about something personally special.
And so, I start my story about those two days at BoA.
Day One
I dressed up in the event as Segata Sanshiro just for the heck of it, bringing my newly bought surplus Sega Saturn as a prop. While I expected that majority of the event goers will either not readily recognize me or mistake me for another character, those who did recognize reacted in ways I found amusing.
During my trolling and strolling, I stumbled by a booth where I saw a figurine of Hyperdimension Neptunia's Purple Heart. I thought she was for sale; too bad she wasn't, so the next best thing I could get was a picture with her.
By the way, you could also mistake my character as the Planeptune citizen Shiro Pluto.
Then again, it was a simulated wedding.
And in the end, I decided to go.
Day Two
I dressed up as Tommy Vercetti from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City on Day Two. I heard that GTAV was about to be released, so I dressed up as such to allude to it (though I don't have any immediate plans to get a copy of the game).
Putting that aside, I met a few awesome cosplayers, among them being my peers. I was overly amused to see characters from Ranma 1/2, one of my favorite anime during my childhood, cosplayed to near perfection.
Or maybe that price was to compensate for the cost of the invisible ink stamps and the UV lights.
But putting that aside, I had my fun. Next time, though, I should try more to get my money's worth.
Now we move on to Part Two.
