- he's romantically interested in her;
- he wants to flirt with her; or
- he likes her.
As for me, I ask for a girl's number only when I meet her in person or see her online on Facebook and find her interesting to talk with after an opening chat. When I feel like wanting to follow up on our conversation outside of chatrooms or Facebook, that's when I ask the question.
Well, yeah, my reason might very well be number 4 in the list above, but I didn't put it in there, because to me, I can only determine if I like a certain girl by her enthusiasm in talking to me, and her willingness to share something more about her.
Then again, that enthusiasm doesn't always translate to the girl being interested in me, which is something I've come to accept.
Generally, I love engaging in conversations, and I enjoy face-to-face or over-the-phone conversations a lot more than chatting online. I feel that casual conversations or phone calls have a more personal level to them than simple PMS, though it can't be helped since most people nowadays communicate over the social media network.
Personally, talking on Facebook is gradually losing its appeal to me; after all, I'm not always on it thanks to poor Internet. Besides, what's the use of a SIM card's number if you won't use it?
