And so, before I totally lose this free time to talk about all the stuff that I did these past weeks (again), I might as well put them all here in this one entry.
Misadventures in Malaysia
I also only got to have a few pictures of me taken during my stay there. In my camera, at least.
I even compiled those pics in a video slideshow.
To be honest, I found it more fun to make a photodocumentation than bond with my companions during the trip. I personally felt that the trip would be more enjoyable to me if I was not with my bosses and their families. But alas, it was a company-paid trip, so I was compelled to file for my vacation leave to join them.
And one of my bosses is my sister, so that makes me family too. But still, a free trip is a free trip.
"You can do it!"
I didn't stay at home in Bulacan the night before; instead, I slept in my sister-slash-boss's place in Cavite so I could arrive to the venue early and catch the press conference that was supposed to start at 11AM, but ended up starting a lot later.
I tried to bit a wait more after the press conference to see if I can take a picture with Rob; my patience paid off. It's also thanks to the bouncers for giving me an opportunity for a photo-op with him before he went to have lunch.
I've only ever seen American stand-up comedians do their thing on YouTube, but I've always appreciated their genre of comedy, with the slapstick genre as close second. I expected a lot of sexually-themed jokes from Rob; he did Deuce Bigalow, after all.
It was definitely a new experience, topped up by being able to chat and take pictures with some local celebrities after the show.
Tragedy struck
Besides, more work piled up.
And then last week, we had an idea at work to spend at least four hours in our selected day of that week to volunteer in sorting donations for the survivors. It probably was one of the most meaningful hours I've ever spent. I had a few pictures taken to remember it by, and I also bought a Red Cross volunteer's T-shirt as a memento.
It's simply disappointing AND amusing to know that even I have my share of detractors.
I have moved
I tried staying the night there two Mondays ago, and I realized the convenience of commuting from there to our office and back. It was then that I decided to stay there until she finds a buyer, or I save up enough to invest in it. Besides, I've always entertained the thought of living independently anyway.
But of course, HDTV.
And since I have a relatively big space for my sole use, I think I can do some stuff that I couldn't readily do because of the awkward atmosphere. I think I'm going to start making some cover videos and stuff.
