Ingrid and Estelle join the game as  Solo Units, while it's still unknown whether Ryo will be a Solo Unit as well or he'll be paired with another character, though it's most likely he'll go solo. There is no definite date yet as to when the three characters will be officially introduced.

Karin makes a royal comeback in Street Fighter V

9/17/2015

Comments

Just a week after Capcom revealed Street Fighter V newcomer Rashid at an event in Dubai, they had just revealed a returning character in the game at the Tokyo Game Show.

Karin Kanzuki makes her return in the latest installment in the Street Fighter series, following her fellow Street Fighter ZERO3 alumna Rainbow Mika. She returns to action 11 years after she last appeared in Capcom Fighting Jam in 2011.

Retaining most of her moves from ZERO3, Karin adds a slew of new moves into her fighting style. Among those is a dash move that lets her close in on her opponent for a high-low combo or throw.

Her V-Skill, the Meioken, is a projectile-deflecting palm strike that knocks opponents down when it connects. It is also a chargeable move, that changes its hit and block properties. In her V-Trigger, Kanzuki-Ryu Guren no Kata, Karin gets access to a new move, Guren Ken, which she can follow up with an overhead attack, a low sweep, an aerial throw, a backdash or even more set of strikes to confuse the opponent.

Check out Karin's gameplay trailer below.

A wild--er, masked--Pikachu appeared, and it's's joining the Pokkén Tournament!

Masked Pikachu--also known as Pikachu Libre--enters the ring wearing a luchador costume, packing electrifying wrestling moves (The Rock pun intended) to overwhelm the competition. Check out its gameplay trailer and screenshots below.
A separate character from the default Pikachu that uses Mishima-style moves in the game, Masked Pikachu is first seen as one of the five costumes available for Cosplay Pikachu in Pokémon Alpha Ruby and Omega Sapphire. In the said game, it learns a move exclusive to it, the Flying Press.

Pokkén Tournament is already playable in the Japanese arcades, and it is due for a worldwide release for the Nintendo WiiU in spring of 2016. And just today, Masked Pikachu has been made playable in the arcade version.

The King of Fighters XIV is set to burn things up in 2016

Sony announced at the Tokyo Game Show that a new installment in the hit fighting game series The King of Fighters is currently in the works.

Six years after SNK Playmore released the thirteenth game in the series, The King of Fighters XIV will utilize the graphical capacity of the PlayStation 4, featuring 3D character models while "staying true to its gameplay roots."

Check out the teaser trailer and screenshots below, featuring Kyo Kusanagi and Iori Yagami.
Last month, Dream Cancel reported that Chinese companies Oriental Securities and Shunrong Sanqi formed a joint venture, paying 63.5 million US dollars to acquire 81.25% of the shares of SNK Playmore from its former CEO Eikichi Kawasaki and his wife. The objective of the acquisition is to "follow the Marvel formula"--to further develop and enable SNK Playmore's rich IP library to branch out into different media platforms such as comics, television, movies and other collaborative projects.

And it looks like KOFXIV is just the beginning.

KOFXIV is scheduled for release some time in 2016.

First look at Project X Zone 2's anime intro

Check out these screenshots from the animated opening movie of Project X Zone 2: Brave New World.

Yasutoshi Iwasaki supervised the production of the game's anime intro by animation studio Graphinica. The game's opening and ending songs, "Sekai wa Hitotsu no Butai" (The World is a Stage) and "Tsukiakari no Curtain Call" (Moonlight's Curtain Call), are both composed by NXC composer Yuzo Koshiro, with lyrics by Monolith Soft's Souichiro Morizumi and performed by marina.
And looking at one of the screenshots, it looks like Nemesis T-Type (Biohazard/Resident Evil) will also return as an enemy unit.

PXZ2, a Nintendo 3DS exclusive, will be released on November 12 in Japan and in early 2016 in North America and Europe.

Street Fighter V introduces Arab newcomer Rashid

9/14/2015

Comments

Capcom revealed the second newcomer in Street Fighter V In the recent Games 2015 event in Dubai: his name is Rashid.
Picture
Picture
Taking a page from Namco Bandai when they designed Shaheen for Tekken 7, Capcom worked closely with Sony and Pluto Games, Capcom's distributor in the Middle East, to come up with Rashid's design. He is the first-ever Arab character to appear in a Street Fighter game since Pullum Purna in Street Fighter EX.

A master of "the turbulent wind," Rashid incorporates the use of whirlwinds and acrobatics in his moveset. He has two V-Skills, the Front Flip and the Rolling Assault, both of which can be followed up with a kicking attack. His V-Trigger, Ysaar, has him launch a whirlwind that damages the opponent who gets close to it. He can also use the whirlwind to further propel his attacks forward.

Check out Rashid's gameplay trailer below.

In addition to the new character reveal, Capcom also announced that SFV will be textually localized in Arabic--a first for a Capcom game--as their way to show appreciation for the Middle Eastern community's support of the series.
