The makers of Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist are back with a new webseries; it's called Street Fighter: Resurrection.
No specific details have been revealed on the Machinima original series so far, except that Alain Moussi joins the cast as Charlie Nash, sporting his Street Fighter V look. This at least suggests that the story ties into the events of SFV. Mike Moh and Christian Howard reprise their roles as Ryu and Ken Masters, respectively, while Joey Ansah also returns to take his mantle as the series writer and director. It's still a mystery if he will reprise his in-film role as Akuma. Street Fighter: Resurrection will premiere on go90 in March 2016, a month after SFV is released exclusively for the PlayStation 4 and the PC. Check out the teaser below.
Previously, after the success of Assassin's Fist, Capcom green-lighted Ansah's planned sequel, Street Fighter: World Warrior, taking place after the events of the first series. It looks like Resurrection was prioritized first to support the release of SFV.
Earlier today, Ansah, through the Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist Facebook page, released the following statement regarding the future of Street Fighter: World Warrior.
Dear SFAF fans. Street Fighter: Resurrection is a highly ambitious, action packed, live-action mini series which serves as a narrative prologue to the events of SFV. With the new game coming out and interest from both Machinima and Capcom for me to make a tie in, I couldn't pass up such an exciting prospect to leap forward a decade after the events of Assassin's Fist and write and direct a very contemporary part of the SF mythos. Featuring old faithful characters and brand new ones. The same level of detail and authenticity has gone into SFR as it has SFAF. I want to also address the subject of STREET FIGHTER: WORLD WARRIOR. Your passion and demand for seeing the direct narrative follow up to SFAF is understandable and heart warming. I spent most of this year completing detailed story development and structure for World Warrior. To pull together a production of that huge scale takes time. So rest assured SFWW is still coming! and to fill the gap until it is ready, you have SFR to look forward to. Trust me it will Shun Goku Satsu your senses. ~ Joey Ansah
World Warrior is still a go, and we have Resurrection to watch while waiting for it. Now I'm looking forward to the future of this series. Thank you, Joey!
The latest trailer of SNK Playmore's The King of Fighters IV was revealed at the PlayStation Experience event in San Francisco, CA last weekend. The trailer reveals that 16 three-man teams are in the game, composed of 50 fighters. Kyo Kusanagi, Iori Yagami, Leona Heidern and Chang Koehan are now joined by Andy Bogard, Billy Kane, Ralf Jones, King, Angel and Kula Diamond. A new story arc is also going to be introduced in the game. Check out KOFXIV's PSX 2015 trailer below. The game will be released exclusively for the PlayStation 4 at a still unannounced date in 2016.
Here comes a new challenger in Street Fighter V: F.A.N.G. Introduced at the PlayStation Experience event in San Francisco, CA, F.A.N.G is the self-proclaimed second-in-command of Shadaloo. He introduces a gameplay mechanic new to the series: poison. His V-Skill, Nishidoku, is a slow-moving poison projectile that damages opponents who come into contact with it. In his V-Trigger, Dokunomu, F.A.N.G releases a cloud of poison around his body, defending himself while at the same time damaging opponents who come close to him. Check out his gameplay trailer below. Square Enix revealed a short gameplay trailer of Final Fantasy VII Remake for the PlayStation 4 at the PlayStation Experience event in San Francisco, CA last weekend. According to the official press release, the much-anticipated remake of the classic hit RPG will be "told across a multi-part series, with each entry providing its own unique experience." There is still no detail on when the first part of the episodic videogame remake will be released. Check out the trailer below featuring the opening act of the original game in modern graphics and storytelling. Recalling last year's PSX, game producer Shinji Hashimoto announced that FFVII will return on the PS4, much to the delight of the roaring audience. That elation turned into disappointment when the return only meant a PS4 port of the PC version of the game. Now, this remake looks to make up for last year's terrible trolling, but now concerns arise from gamers as regards the fact that the remake will be released episodically.
I'll keep posted on new details of this much awaited remake. Here are trailers and teasers to movies and series that we should watch out for next year. Marvel Studios' Captain America: Civil War opens on May 6, 2016, while Warner Bros.' Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens earlier on March 25. Blizzard Entertainment's blockbuster game Warcraft makes its theatrical debut on June 10, while Dexter's Laboratory creator Genndy Tartakovsky teased the return of his animated actions series Samurai Jack on Adult Swim. Let's not forget that Deadpool's movie is also going to come out next year!
A blockbuster announcement from Nintendo just came out: Cloud Strife will join Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and WiiU! Nintendo hosted a character poll where gamers could put in a vote for whichever character they would want to appear as the next DLC character in the game. The poll closed in October 3, and from all the fan nominations, the developers ultimately chose the protagonist of Final Fantasy VII, who will now officially join the roster despite debuting on the Sony PlayStation.
This makes Cloud the sixth guest character to appear in the Smash series, following Solid Snake (in Super Smash Bros. Brawl), Sonic the Hedgehog, Rockman, Pac-Man and Ryu. His addition also makes Square Enix the fifth third-party collaborator to join the series after Konami, Capcom, Sega and Bandai Namco. Now this I didn't expect. For the first time ever since appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2003, the WWE's legendary Undertaker made a guest appearence in The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. In one of the show's segments, Jimmy read a letter from a suggestion box, asking him to get the Undertaker to appear on his show to deliver his trademark finishing move, the Tombstone Piledriver, to a man dressed as a turkey. Jimmy regretted he couldn't grant the late-notice request, citing that he doesn't know how to even contact "the Phenom". Then a familiar gong sounded; the Deadman cometh. And in a rare showing of generosity, Undertaker fulfilled the letter sender's request--and tombstoned a turkey-costume-wearing guy wrestling fans will recognize as Brad Maddox. Jimmy offered to shake the Deadman's hand afterwards, only to take it back in fear for his life. But at the end of the show, we'll see 'Taker sort of "warming up" to Jimmy with an arm on his shoulder. Jimmy looks like he appreciates the friendship. The Undertaker appeared on the show to promote the 29th annual Survivor Series on November 22, 2015 in Atlanta, GA, where he will celebrate his 25th anniversary in the WWE.
The Brothers of Destruction are back! The Undertaker and Kane reunited on the last episode of Monday Night Raw, emanating from England, to take revenge against the Wyatt Family. Everything stemmed from the ending of WWE Hell in a Cell, when Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman ambushed and took "the Phenom" away after his vicious main event match against the "Beast Incarnate" Brock Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell. The next day saw his half-brother try to avenge him, only to meet the same fate at the hands of the family. Bray then claimed in the succeeding episodes of Raw and SmackDown that after "harvesting the souls" of the "Last Outlaw" and the "Devil's Favorite Demon", he is now in command of the thunder and lightning. In a defiant tone, he claimed that there was no "passing of the torch"; instead, he took the torch for himself and used it to burn the brothers to ashes. But from those ashes, the reinvigorated, vengeful brothers emerged, looking to make Wyatt pay for his transgressions, but Wyatt wasn't alone; sensing danger, he summoned Harper, Rowan and Strowman from out of nowhere, looking to do damage to the brothers anew, but the brothers successfully fended off the family. The brothers downed Harper and Rowan with stereo chokeslams, and they withstood a double clothesline from the hulking Strowman, who they sent crashing into the announce table for his efforts. And as soon as Wyatt was left cornered and defenseless, the Undertaker and Kane brought him down with a double chokeslam to put an end to last Monday's Raw. This moment is surely going to lead to a match between the Brothers of Destruction and the Wyatt Family at Survivor Series. The question left to ask is if it's going to be a 4-on-4 traditional Survivor Series elimination tag team match, where the brothers will have to look for two more partners, or if it will be a regular tag team match between the "Deadman" and the Demon and any of the two Wyatt Family members. If I had my way, I'd want it to be 4-on-4, with the brothers partnering with Sting and another legend. Either way, I'm sure it's going to be awesome. The 29th annual Survivor Series, happening on November 22, 2015 in Atlanta, GA, marks the silver anniversary of the legendary Deadman, who made his debut in 1990.
Check out the opening anime movie of Project X Zone 2: Brave New World!
The opening theme song, "Sekai wa Hitotsu no Butai" (The World is One Stage) is composed by Yuzo Koshiro, with lyrics by Monolith Soft's Souichiro Morizumi, and performed by marina.
The game launched in Japan last Thursday, and has received a 32/40 rating from Famitsu. Developer Koji Ishitani earlier assured that all the content of the localized version will basically be the same with the Japanese release, so players waiting for its worldwide launch on February 16, 2016 (February 19 in some countries) can expect to have the song in its full glory in their own copies. |
