Then SFxTK was released last year. In my first weeks of playing it, I was still enjoying it, despite that Bad Box Art Megaman. I thought the inclusion of Cole MacGrath from inFamous will keep me interested in the game for long, but I guess its rather sluggish gameplay (I'm not a technical SF player), I couldn't really appreciate it completely. The DLC controversy didn't help either.
I'm glad I was wrong.
Tekken games have been released since the original announcement--Tekken Hybrid, Tekken 3D: Prime Edition, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Tekken Card Tournament, and Tekken Revolution—further justifies my worry.
The last updates I saw regarding this game are these pictures and the video below, and these are already (give or take) a year old!
We will say first off that the game is still in development, so you don’t need to worry about that. There are several reasons why we haven’t released any updates. One of the reasons is, Street Fighter x Tekken was released. That still had updates until recently. One interesting thing we’ve seen with that title when it came out was that it’s not quite what we expected.
It was not just Tekken fans and Street Fighter fans merging, there seems to be a whole new community growing around that title that wasn’t playing either of the titles up until that point. That was very unexpected, but quite cool. It’s something we want to take care and grow. Rather than throw out our title right away while those people are still interested in Street Fighter x Tekken we are looking for the right time because we are still developing Tekken x Street Fighter.
They had to ask him some more as regards to how the SF characters will play and if the roster has already been decided. Harada only had this to say.
We are making progress, but everything is secret so we can’t say anything about that.
Another one of my concerns is regarding which console the game will be released for. We currently have the PS3s, Xbox360s and WiiUs. With PS4 and Xbox One's arrival looming, they might consider releasing the game for these consoles to capitalize on their graphic output.
But at the end of this day, what matters to me is that they are still working on Tekken x Street Fighter, and I will have to extend my patience in waiting for it. After all, patience, especially for this game, is a virtue.
